Objective
To develop an spirit de corps among its members;
Generally to protect and to promote the interest of the Service, and
To promote study of police subjects.
Membership
All members of the Indian Police or Indian Police Service, including those who have retired, are eligible for membership unless their names have been removed by any branch of the Association. The Committee of any branch, which removed the name of the member shall be competent to allow the restoration of his name on the list of membership.
Units of the Association
The Assocation shall function through (I) a Central and (2) State Associations.
Functions of Central Association
co-ordinate the activities of the State Associations
consider all central questions i.e. questions affecting generally all members of the Service, or questions involving any amendment to these rules, or those specifically declared central questions by a resolution of the Central Association
advise State Associations regarding questions on which advice may be asked by them.
